Great Spirit circle all around me
One of my first paintings created on Kauai after the great Hurricane Iniki. The experience of 200 plus mile-an-hour winds shook the fear of failure out of me. After the dust settled and we were able to get our house in order, I began to paint like a whirlwind. I remember walking down the beach and the phrase "Be strong as mountain, be gentle as feather" kept whispering in my mind. This image is a response to that call. She is very Mary-like, a peaceful madonna rooted to the earth, enveloped by a halo of green compassionate light.
